T. F. Rice lives in Western New York State with her husband, teenage son, old husky-dog, and with her creative clutter...
...Tanya works in accounting for a non-profit during the week. Her short fiction and poetry has been published in several "cross-genre" books, as well as various quarterlies and an anthology. Recent publications are poetry in Earth's Daughters, Poesies, Fish Eat Fish Too, and articles/book reviews in The Other Herald, and a poem in forthcoming issue of Abandoned Blog Ezine Project.
The "City/Country" part of Rice's cross-genre book titles is a tribute to growing up all over the place, with a father in the military, not really being "from" anywhere. The first "Guide" was written as a tribute to Old Forge, New York, which is a lovely Adirondack town dear to Rice and her husband, son. The "Guide" books encourage reader participation, offering activities, information and gentle encouragement to write... or simply to "be creative".
In her spare time, she also edits The Other Herald, a small monthly literary/creative arts publication established in 2006. In 2007, she authored a children's workbook for original thought, THE WIND BEING. Rice is also the author of a book of writing and life exercises, which started as a little-tiny zine style booklet. The little booklets are still available because of their popularity.
Rice is a member of Woman Poet, Rochester Poets, and Just Poets writers groups. She volunteers with the Arts Council for Wyoming County when possible, enjoys membership in their organization and the enriching programs/ events it provides. Rice also leads the longtime Wyoming County, NY multi-genre writers group, Wyoming Writes.
